Etest JAMB CBT: how I built it
A JAMB practice app with 5,553 past questions across 11 subjects, live on the App Store and Google Play.
On the App Store it appears as Etest CBT: JAMB Practice 2027.

The problem
JAMB is the board that runs Nigeria’s university entrance exam, and students prepare for the UTME, Post UTME, WAEC and NECO with past questions. The seven store listings I checked in October 2026 advertise between 26,000 and 60,000 questions each. They hand the student a mountain of questions and no help deciding what to revise.
What I built
- Timed CBT practice. You pick your subjects and a time of 60, 90, 120, 150 or 180 minutes, then take the paper under a clock, with a question navigator and a flag for questions to return to.
- Scored results.Your score, your accuracy and a subject by subject breakdown. Every answer comes with an explanation.
- A study mode.Instant answers and explanations after each question, with no timer.
- Offline study guides.209 syllabus topics, with key ideas, formulae, a worked example and the mistakes students make. The guides work without data.
- A study plan. You give the app your exam date, the days you can study and the hours you have, and it builds a day by day schedule around the topics you get wrong most.
- A progress dashboard.Your score trend, best score and running average.

What I decided
- 01
I skipped the question count race.
Rival listings advertise far more questions than my 5,553. I put the effort into a study plan instead, and none of the seven listings I checked used the words study plan.
- 02
The bank is past papers.
The questions come from past JAMB, WAEC and NECO papers. I didn’t write questions to make the number bigger.
- 03
The guides work offline.
A student with no data or airtime can still revise. The first three topics in every subject are free, and Premium opens all 209.
What is true today
- 5,553 past questions across 11 subjects.
- 209 offline study guides.
- Live on the App Store and Google Play.
Numbers I’m still collecting
Etest JAMB CBT reached the App Store in July 2026, so there are no student results to report yet. Next I’ll focus on what to change ahead of the 2027 exam season.
