Pawlarm: a pet care reminder app
A care plan and reminders for dogs and cats, built from the pet’s breed and age. Live on the App Store.
The Android version is in closed testing and is not on Google Play yet.

The problem
Pet reminder apps are easy to find: I counted 36 tracker and reminder apps in US App Store searches on September 30, 2026. Most are a reminder list and a pet log, so the owner decides what goes on it, and a new puppy owner often doesn’t know.
What I built
- A starter care plan. You enter your pet’s name, species, breed and age, and the app builds a plan you can edit.
- One tap reminders.Feeding, walks and play, training, grooming, vaccines and vet check ups.
- Monthly flea and heartworm reminders. They sit in a Coming up list so recurring medication doesn’t slip.
- More than one pet. Each pet has its own plan.
- No account.Pet details and reminders stay on the phone.

What I decided
- 01
I cut the first idea down.
The original brief had AI generated plans, shared household check offs, widgets and a paywall. The version I shipped has none of them, so the plan works on day one and there was less to test.
- 02
The data stays on the device.
There’s no account and no cloud sync in this version, so there’s nothing to sign up for.
- 03
I built it in Expo.
One codebase covers iOS and Android, and reminders are local notifications that fire without a connection.
What is true today
- Live on the App Store.
- Android is in closed testing.
Numbers I’m still collecting
Pawlarm reached the App Store in October 2026, so there are no usage numbers to quote yet.
