    Try five Mathematics questions

    1. Question 1. Simplify 2/3 ÷ 4/9.

      Show the answer

      A: 3/2. Dividing by a fraction is multiplying by its reciprocal: 2/3 × 9/4 = 18/12 = 3/2.

    2. Question 2. Solve 3x − 7 = 11.

      Show the answer

      C: x = 6. Add 7 to both sides to get 3x = 18, then divide by 3.

    3. Question 3. If log₁₀ 2 = 0.3010, find log₁₀ 8.

      Show the answer

      B: 0.9030. 8 = 2³, so log₁₀ 8 = 3 × 0.3010 = 0.9030.

    4. Question 4. What is the sum of the interior angles of a hexagon?

      Show the answer

      C: 720°. The sum is (n − 2) × 180°. For six sides: 4 × 180° = 720°.

    5. Question 5. A bag holds 3 red balls and 5 blue balls. One ball is picked at random. What is the probability that it is red?

      Show the answer

B: 3/8. There are 3 red balls out of 8 balls in all, so the probability is 3/8.
