The best apps to quit energy drinks in 2026, going only by their listings, are QuitERGY, NoCrash, RushLess, StopCoffee, Quit Energy Drinks, Get Free, Thrive, Quit Energy Drink and Decaf, plus FizzFree, which I built. Want a free download on iPhone and Android? FizzFree or QuitERGY. Want caffeine counted per drink? RushLess or StopCoffee.

    Key points

    • I made FizzFree, so I am not neutral. Every claim about the other eight apps comes from their own App Store or Google Play listing, read on 25 October 2026.
    • Only four of the nine have a Google Play listing I could find: FizzFree, QuitERGY, StopCoffee and Quit Energy Drinks, Get Free. The rest are iPhone only.
    • NoCrash and Thrive say you need a subscription to use them at all. Check that before you install, not after.
    • RushLess and StopCoffee count the real caffeine in what you drink. FizzFree uses a typical figure for an energy drink, so its caffeine number is an estimate.
    • No app is a medical treatment. If you drink a lot of caffeine, have a heart condition or are pregnant, talk to a doctor before you change your intake.

Which apps help you quit energy drinks?

Nine apps came up when I searched both stores for quitting energy drinks, and most of them are the names ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI answers gave me when I asked in October. They split into four kinds: streak trackers, taper planners, caffeine loggers and courses.

This is what each listing said on 25 October 2026. Listings change, so treat the last column as a date stamp.

I left out star ratings and download counts. Most of these apps have between zero and two ratings on the US App Store, which tells you nothing either way. Two more apps turned up that I did not put in the table, Crashd and Tabbit. Both are iPhone apps and both say they are subscriptions with a free trial.

How do you quit energy drinks with an app?

You pick one of two routes, then let the app keep score. Cold turkey means a streak that starts today. Tapering means a daily or weekly limit that shrinks until it reaches zero, or the number you are happy with. Either way, the app's real job is the 3 pm moment when the fridge is right there.

The route matters more than the app. The FDA says that if you drink caffeine every day and want to cut back, you should do it gradually. Withdrawal usually starts 12 to 24 hours after the last can and lasts 2 to 9 days, according to a 2004 review of 66 studies. I wrote up the day by day version, with the caffeine in Red Bull, Monster, Celsius and Prime, in my energy drink withdrawal timeline.

On X this week, the posts I read were split right down that line. One person was going "cold turkey today" because two Celsius cans no longer kept them awake. Another had stopped two weeks earlier and was still talking about the headaches. Neither of them mentioned an app, which is sort of the point: most people try this alone first.

What each route needs from an app:

    • Cold turkey. A streak, the money adding up, and something to do in the first ten minutes of a craving. NoCrash, Thrive, Quit Energy Drink and FizzFree all do the streak.
    • Taper. A target that moves on its own, so you are not doing the maths each morning. RushLess, StopCoffee and FizzFree's reduce mode build that schedule for you. QuitERGY lets you set your own limits.
    • Structure. If you want to be told what to do each day, Quit Energy Drinks, Get Free is a course, not just a counter.

What does FizzFree do for energy drinks?

FizzFree is the tracker I built. I started it for soda, and energy drinks are one of its three drink types, next to regular soda and diet soda. You can quit at once or switch on reduce mode. Reduce mode takes your current cans a day and walks it down to a target you pick, over 1 to 12 weeks, with a fresh number each day.

Each day you check in. In reduce mode you log how many you actually had against that day's target. There is one free streak freeze every month too.

    • Craving SOS. A 60 second timer, one swap idea and the reason you wrote for quitting.
    • The numbers. Days without a can, money kept in your own currency, and the sugar, caffeine and calories you skipped.
    • No account. Nothing to sign up for. Your data stays on your phone.

The tracker is free with ads. Premium is optional and adds the rest of the 30 day Soda Detox, more streak freezes, craving insights, a weekly caffeine chart and themes, and removes the ads. It is on the App Store and Google Play, and the full feature list is on the FizzFree page.

Where do the other apps beat FizzFree?

In a few real places, and you should know them before you choose.

    • Real caffeine per can. FizzFree works out caffeine from a typical energy drink, about 32 mg per 100 ml, which is 80 mg in a 250 ml can. That is close for a Red Bull and well short for a 200 mg Celsius. RushLess says it logs the brand, size and caffeine of what you scan, and StopCoffee lists more than 50 drinks with their caffeine. If the milligrams matter to you, those two are more precise.
    • Coffee counts too. FizzFree deliberately leaves coffee out. If you are swapping three Monsters for three espressos, StopCoffee or Decaf will see it and FizzFree will not. That swap, by the way, came up more than once in the posts I read, and it is not a taper.
    • A course. Quit Energy Drinks, Get Free has 21 daily lessons in 12 languages. FizzFree has a 30 day detox program, but only the first three days are free.
    • Apple Watch. RushLess is the only one here that says it runs on the watch.
    • Built only for energy drinks. NoCrash, Thrive, RushLess and Quit Energy Drink talk to energy drinkers and nobody else. Some people want that.

My honest take: for most people the caffeine figure matters less than it sounds. You are counting cans, and cans are easy to count. But if your habit is two Celsius a day, an estimate built on Red Bull will undersell your progress, and that is worth knowing.

How do you pick the right app to quit energy drinks?

Start with your phone and your budget, then your route. It takes about two minutes and saves you a week with the wrong app.

    1. Check your phone. On Android, your choices here are FizzFree, QuitERGY, StopCoffee and Quit Energy Drinks, Get Free. On an older iPhone, note that QuitERGY and NoCrash list iOS 26 or later.
    2. Check what is free. NoCrash and Thrive need a subscription to use at all. FizzFree's tracker and QuitERGY are free to download, with paid extras.
    3. Pick a route. Cold turkey suits a streak app. A taper suits RushLess, StopCoffee, QuitERGY's limits or FizzFree's reduce mode.
    4. Decide if coffee counts. If you also drink coffee or tea, a caffeine logger like StopCoffee or Decaf sees the whole picture.
    5. Give it a week. If you have not opened it by day four, it is the wrong app. Delete it and try the next one. No guilt.

One more thing. If you drink soda as well as energy drinks, one tracker for both beats two apps with two streaks. That is the reason FizzFree counts all three.

    Frequently asked questions

Is there a free app to quit energy drinks?

Yes. FizzFree's tracker is free with ads on iPhone and Android, and QuitERGY is free to download with a paid Premium. Decaf's listing names no paid parts. NoCrash and Thrive say you need a subscription to use them, and Quit Energy Drinks, Get Free gives the first 3 lessons free.

What is the best app to quit energy drinks?

It depends on your route. For a streak and money saved on any phone, FizzFree or QuitERGY. For a taper that counts real caffeine, RushLess or StopCoffee. For a daily course, Quit Energy Drinks, Get Free. If you only want a counter, any of them will do, so pick the one you will open.

Can an app help me taper off energy drinks instead of quitting cold turkey?

Yes. RushLess sets a weekly allowance that steps down, StopCoffee cuts your caffeine 25% a week over 2 to 6 weeks, and FizzFree's reduce mode lowers your daily target over 1 to 12 weeks. The FDA advises cutting back gradually if you drink caffeine every day.

Does FizzFree track energy drinks or only soda?

Both. FizzFree tracks regular soda, diet soda and energy drinks, and its streak, money saved and caffeine skipped include energy drinks. The caffeine is an estimate based on a typical energy drink, not your brand, and it does not count coffee.

Do I need an account for these apps?

Not for FizzFree, which has no account at all. RushLess's listing says no account is needed for its plan, and Crashd and Tabbit say the same. Some of the others do not say either way, so check the privacy section of the listing before you install.

    How I wrote this

On 25 October 2026 I searched the US App Store and Google Play for apps to quit energy drinks and read each listing in full. I did not install or test the other apps, and I left out ratings and download counts. I checked which apps ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI answers named on 22 October, read what people on X said about quitting that week, and checked search volumes in Google's Keyword Planner and Google Trends for the US, UK, Canada and Australia. The FizzFree details come from the app's own code and the facts I keep on file for it. I left out prices, and a few success rates one listing quotes, because I could not check them.
