Quit soda and habit health
Best apps to quit soda in 2026, compared by someone who built one
Seven apps to quit soda compared from their App Store and Google Play listings in October 2026: what each does, how you pay and who it suits.

The best app to quit soda depends on how you quit. For a soda only tracker, look at FizzFree, ZeroFizz or Fizzless. For a guided program, NoFizz. To log every sip, Sip Count. For several habits or a community, Quitzilla or I Am Sober. I made FizzFree, so I say where the others do better.
Key points
- I built FizzFree. Every other detail here comes from each app's own App Store and Google Play listing, read on 25 October 2026.
- Soda only trackers: FizzFree, ZeroFizz and Fizzless. A paid program: NoFizz. A sip logger: Sip Count. General quit apps: Quitzilla and I Am Sober.
- On Android the choice is short. Of the soda only apps, only FizzFree turned up on Google Play. Quitzilla and I Am Sober are on both stores.
- ZeroFizz and Fizzless are paid once, with no ads. FizzFree is free with ads. If ads bother you more than a one time price, that matters.
- No app has published trial results for quitting soda. Pick the one you will actually open at 3 pm when the craving hits.
Which apps help you quit soda?
Seven apps are worth a look, and they split into four kinds. Soda trackers count your days and add up money and sugar. A program gives you a lesson a day. A sip logger records what you drink instead of what you skip. General quit apps cover soda along with everything else.
Here is what each one is, in plain words, from its listing:
- FizzFree: Quit Soda Tracker. Mine. A streak, the money you keep and the sugar, caffeine and calories you skip, for regular soda, diet soda and energy drinks. Quit at once or taper with reduce mode. Craving SOS gives you a timer, swaps and your own reason for quitting.
- ZeroFizz. A soda streak tracker with a Craving Shield countdown, milestones, and slip tracking that shows which hour and which day you tend to slip.
- Fizzless: Quit Soda Tracker. A private streak tracker with a 60 second breathing exercise for cravings and a home screen widget. No account, no cloud sync.
- NoFizz: Quit Soda Now. A 100 day program with a daily checkup and exercises. The listing says the free download has limited access and a subscription opens the full program.
- Sip Count. Log every sip, can or bottle and see sugar, calories and hydration on charts. It has an Apple Watch app. Streak tracking is in the Pro tier.
- Quitzilla. Tracks any habit, several at once, with time clean and money saved as the main numbers.
- I Am Sober. Built for sobriety, but its day counter, daily pledge, money saved and community work for soda too. It has been on the App Store since 2013.
How do the quit soda apps compare?
This is what each listing said on 25 October 2026, on the US App Store and on Google Play. Prices and features change, so check the store before you decide.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| FizzFree: Quit Soda Tracker | Soda and energy drink tracker | Reduce mode, craving SOS, sugar and caffeine skipped, one free streak freeze a month, no account | Yes | Yes | Free with ads, optional Premium |
| ZeroFizz | Soda tracker | Slip patterns by hour and day, savings goals as rewards, no ads | Yes | Not found | 4.99 US dollars, once |
| Fizzless: Quit Soda Tracker | Soda tracker | Breathing exercise, widget, no account, no tracking | Yes | Not found | 2.99 US dollars, once |
| NoFizz: Quit Soda Now | Program | 100 day program with daily checkups | Yes | Not found | Limited free access, subscription for the full program |
| Sip Count | Sip logger | Logs every drink, hydration charts, Apple Watch | Yes | Not found | Free, Pro tier for streaks and full history |
| Quitzilla | Any habit | Several habits at once, money saved as rewards | Yes | Yes | Free, Play page shows ads and in app purchases |
| I Am Sober | Sobriety, any habit | Daily pledge, community, milestones | Yes | Yes | Free, Play page shows in app purchases |
"Not found" means I searched Google Play for the app's name on 25 October and it did not come up. That is not proof it will never exist, only that I could not find it.
Where do the other apps beat FizzFree?
In a few real places, and I'd rather you hear it from me.
- No ads. ZeroFizz and Fizzless both say no ads and no subscription. You pay once and that's it. FizzFree's tracker is free, but the free version shows ads.
- A community. I Am Sober has one, and FizzFree doesn't. If quitting goes better for you with other people around, that alone could decide it.
- Apple Watch. Sip Count logs from your wrist. FizzFree has no watch app.
- Track record. Quitzilla and I Am Sober have been on the App Store for years, Quitzilla since 2020 and I Am Sober since 2013. FizzFree came out in July 2026. New apps have fewer reviews, which is fair to weigh.
- More than soda. If you're also cutting alcohol or vaping, Quitzilla keeps every habit in one place.
Where FizzFree is different: it's the only soda only app here that I found on both iPhone and Android, it counts diet soda and energy drinks in the same streak, and reduce mode lets you taper over the weeks you choose instead of stopping on day one. Everyone gets one free streak freeze a month, so a single slip doesn't wipe out three weeks. There's no account, and your data stays on your phone. The home screen widgets are iPhone only.
The tracker is free with ads. Premium is optional and adds the rest of the 30 day Soda Detox, more freezes, craving insights, a caffeine chart and themes, and removes the ads. See FizzFree, or get it on the App Store or Google Play.
How do you pick a quit soda app?
Start with how you plan to quit, then with the moment you're most likely to slip. That moment is where most quits fail, so it should drive the choice more than the feature list.
- Cold turkey or slow? If you want to cut from four cans to one over a month, you need a taper. FizzFree's reduce mode does that. Sip Count lets you set limits. Most streak counters assume you've already stopped.
- What do you do when a craving hits? FizzFree, ZeroFizz and Fizzless all have something for that moment: a timer, swaps or a breathing exercise. A plain counter like Days Since doesn't. My take: a counter on its own is too easy to ignore on a bad day.
- Which phone? On Android, your soda only choice is FizzFree, or a general app like Quitzilla or I Am Sober.
- Ads or a price? Free with ads, a one time price, or a subscription. All three are on this list. Pick the one you won't resent in week two.
- Diet soda too? If your habit is Diet Coke or Coke Zero, sugar saved is close to zero. Caffeine and money are the numbers that move, so pick an app that tracks them. I wrote about whether Coke Zero is bad for you if you're deciding whether to quit diet soda at all.
On X this month the most common question about quitting soda wasn't about apps. It was "what did you replace it with?" Four separate posts between May and October asked almost those exact words. Whatever app you pick, have the swap ready before day one: sparkling water, cold tea, whatever you'll actually drink.
People also search for this most in January and around spring. In Google Trends for the US over the past 12 months, "quit soda" hit its highs in the week of 28 December, the week of 1 March and the week of 3 May 2026. If you're reading this in a quiet month, that's fine too. There's no wrong week.
What happens after you install one?
The first few days are the hard part, and an app won't change your body chemistry. If you drink regular soda, the sugar drops at once. If your soda has caffeine, headaches and tiredness can start within a day or two of your last can. I walk through the weeks in what happens when you stop drinking soda, and the caffeine withdrawal timeline has the hour by hour version.
What an app can do is keep the numbers in front of you. Seeing 40 dollars kept, or a 12 day streak, is a small thing. On a bad afternoon it's often enough.
If you want a plan to go with the app, my 14 day plan to quit soda is a good place to start. If you want the older, App Store only version of this list, it's in quit soda apps compared.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best app to quit soda?
It depends on how you quit. For a soda tracker on iPhone and Android, FizzFree, which I built. For no ads and a one time price on iPhone, ZeroFizz or Fizzless. For a daily program, NoFizz. For a community, I Am Sober. Check each store listing, since prices and features change.
Is there a free app to quit soda?
Yes. FizzFree's tracker is free with ads and Premium is optional. Quitzilla, I Am Sober and Sip Count are free to download, with paid extras. NoFizz is free to download but its listing says a subscription opens the full program. ZeroFizz and Fizzless cost a one time fee on the US store.
Is there a quit soda app for Android?
FizzFree is on Google Play as FizzFree: Quit Soda Tracker. On 25 October 2026 I could not find NoFizz, ZeroFizz, Sip Count or Fizzless on Google Play by name. Quitzilla and I Am Sober are on Android too and work for soda, though they are not made only for it.
Can an app help me quit Diet Coke?
Yes, if it counts diet soda. FizzFree tracks diet soda along with regular soda and energy drinks, so the caffeine and money you skip show up even though the sugar is zero. A general app like Quitzilla can count the days and the money. Coke Zero has 34 mg of caffeine per 12 oz can and Diet Coke 46 mg, per Coca-Cola.
Do quit soda apps actually work?
I found no published trial of any app on this list. What they do is make the habit visible: days, money and cravings. That helps some people a lot and others not at all. Pair the app with a swap drink and a plan for your worst hour, and see how week one goes.
How I wrote this
On 25 October 2026 I read the US App Store listing of every app in the table through Apple's public lookup and the listing pages, and searched Google Play for each one by name. I did not install the other apps. I left out star ratings, because the soda apps have between zero and twenty ratings and those numbers move every week. I also checked Google Ads Keyword Planner and Google Trends for the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and read what people asked about quitting soda on X. FizzFree is my own app, and its details come from the app's code and its page on this site.
