The best JAMB CBT practice apps for the 2027 UTME, going by their own store listings, are TestDriller, Myschool, 3thirty, ExamGuide, O3Schools, JAMB Pro, OneSitting and Prepmate, plus Etest CBT, which I built. Low on data? 3thirty or Myschool. Want videos and notes? TestDriller or ExamGuide. Want a daily plan to exam day? Etest CBT.

    Key points

    • I made Etest CBT, so I am not neutral. Every claim about the other eight apps comes from their own Google Play or App Store listing, read on 25 October 2026.
    • These are the names ChatGPT, Gemini, Google's AI Mode and Perplexity gave me on 25 October when I asked for a JAMB CBT practice app. None of them named mine for that question.
    • Every app here says it works offline, but several only after you download subjects or activate. Test that in airplane mode before you rely on it.
    • No app here is made by JAMB. If an app or a seller promises leaked questions, walk away.
    • I left out ratings, install counts and activation prices. They change too often, and some AI answers quoted figures I could not match to a listing.

Which JAMB CBT apps do AI assistants recommend?

I asked four AI assistants the same three questions a candidate would ask: the best JAMB CBT practice app, an app for past questions offline, and how to practise JAMB CBT on a phone. Myschool came up in nine of the ten answers I got, and TestDriller in five. 3thirty was named first in two of the three offline answers. ExamGuide, O3Schools and JAMB Pro came next.

The assistants mostly quote one or two blog lists and the Play Store pages. That is fine as a start, but it means they repeat whatever those lists say, including activation prices I could not match to any current listing. So I went back to the listings.

    How do the apps compare?

This is what each listing said on 25 October 2026. Listings change, so treat the last column as a date stamp.

For a side by side of what any app should give you, timer, navigator, explanations and a weak topic view, see my checklist on choosing a JAMB CBT app. This post is about which app fits which student.

    Which app suits which candidate?

Here is how I would match them, going only by what each listing promises.

    • You have little data and an older phone. 3thirty and Myschool lead with offline use. OneSitting says it runs well on low end Android phones. Etest CBT also works offline once installed.
    • You learn better from a teacher than a book. TestDriller, ExamGuide, O3Schools and Myschool all list video lessons. OneSitting lists online classes.
    • You hate subscriptions. 3thirty sells fixed passes that do not renew. Myschool talks about lifetime access once activated. JAMB Pro keeps a large set of papers open without paying.
    • You write a less common subject. ExamGuide lists 28 subjects and JAMB Pro 16. Etest CBT covers 11: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Government, Economics, Commerce, Geography, Literature and CRS.
    • You are also sitting WAEC or NECO. Myschool has separate WAEC and NECO simulators, Prepmate lists WASSCE, BECE and NECO, and Etest CBT includes WAEC and NECO past questions next to JAMB.
    • You want to know what to study each day. Etest CBT builds a plan that counts down to your exam date. ExamGuide lists a study plan too.
    • You want the real UTME layout. Look for Use of English with 60 questions and three subjects of 40, in 2 hours, with a calculator. Etest CBT and JAMB Pro both describe that full mock. My guide to a full JAMB mock on your phone shows how to sit one.

    What does Etest CBT do?

Etest CBT is the app I built. It has 5,553 past questions across 11 subjects, each with a worked explanation, and covers JAMB UTME, Post UTME, WAEC and NECO papers.

    • Exam mode. A timed paper of 60, 90, 120, 150 or 180 minutes, with a question navigator and flags, and your score, accuracy and subject breakdown at the end.
    • Full JAMB mock. Use of English plus three subjects, 60, 40, 40 and 40 questions in 2 hours, with an on screen calculator.
    • Study mode. No timer, and you see the answer and the explanation after each question.
    • After each exam. It shows your weakest topics and saves every wrong answer so you can try it again.
    • A plan. Tell it your exam date and it tells you what to revise each day. There are 209 study guides for the syllabus topics.

Practice, the first three topics of every subject and five explanations a day are free. After that, a short video ad opens another explanation, or Premium opens all 209 guides and the full plan and removes the ads, with a 7 day trial. It works offline, on iPhone and Android, and it is an independent app. It is not official JAMB material. See Etest CBT, or get it on the App Store or Google Play.

Where do other apps beat Etest CBT?

In a few real places, and you should know them before you pick.

    • Question count. Myschool lists over 60,000 past questions, ExamGuide over 35,000 and JAMB Pro over 16,000. Mine has 5,553. I chose real past papers with full explanations over a bigger number, but if you want volume, they win.
    • Subjects. ExamGuide's 28 subjects and JAMB Pro's 16 cover more than my 11. If you write Agricultural Science, Islamic Studies or a language, check them first.
    • Video lessons. I have none. TestDriller, ExamGuide, O3Schools and Myschool do.
    • The JAMB novel. O3Schools, Myschool and OneSitting list The Lekki Headmaster with questions. Etest CBT does not have a novel section.
    • Unlimited explanations without ads. On my free tier you get five a day. OneSitting says every answer is explained with no activation fee, though its Play page shows ads.

My honest take: question count is the number every listing leads with, and it is the least useful one. Three hundred questions you understand in your weak topic will move your score more than 30,000 you scroll past.

How should a parent choose, including from abroad?

If you are a parent choosing for a child in Nigeria, maybe from the UK or somewhere else, a few things help.

    1. Use the phone your child will study on. Install on that phone, not yours. I found Prepmate only on the App Store and OneSitting only on Google Play.
    2. Find out what is free first. Every app here has a free part. Let your child use it for three days before you pay for anything.
    3. Do the airplane mode test. Open the app once with data, turn on airplane mode, and start a timed paper. If it stops, it is not offline enough for exam season.
    4. Prefer passes or lifetime access if you cannot watch renewals. 3thirty and Myschool describe access that does not renew. A subscription keeps charging until someone cancels it.
    5. Check the seller. None of these apps is official, and an app that hints it is JAMB's own, or sells "expo", is a warning sign. For dates and fees, go to jamb.gov.ng.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the best JAMB CBT practice app for 2027?

There is no single winner. Going by their listings, TestDriller and ExamGuide suit students who want videos and notes, 3thirty and Myschool suit students with little data, and Etest CBT suits a student who wants explained past questions and a daily plan. Try the free part of two apps before you pay.

Which JAMB CBT apps work offline?

All nine listings in this post say the app works offline, but JAMB Pro asks you to download each subject, and Myschool and OneSitting mention activation. Etest CBT works offline once installed. Do a two minute airplane mode test before exam week.

Is there an official JAMB CBT practice app?

None of the apps here says it is made by JAMB. JAMB runs the UTME and publishes the syllabus, but these are independent practice apps, including mine. Ignore any app or seller that claims to have leaked or "expo" questions.

Can one app cover JAMB, WAEC and NECO?

Yes. Myschool lists JAMB, WAEC and NECO simulators, Prepmate lists UTME, WASSCE and NECO, and Etest CBT includes JAMB UTME, Post UTME, WAEC and NECO past questions in one app. Check that your exact subjects are covered for each exam.

Do I need an app to pass JAMB CBT?

No, but timed practice on a screen helps. The UTME is 180 questions in 2 hours on a computer, about 40 seconds a question, and you only learn that pace by practising it. An app on your phone is the easiest way to rehearse before a CBT centre mock.

    How I wrote this

On 25 October 2026 I asked ChatGPT, Gemini, Google's AI Mode and Perplexity which JAMB CBT practice app to use, wrote down every app they named, and then read each one's Google Play and App Store listing in full. I did not install or test the other apps. I left out ratings, install counts and prices. I checked search volumes in Google's Keyword Planner and Google Trends for Nigeria and the UK, and read what students and app makers posted on X that month. The Etest CBT details come from the app's own code and the facts I keep on file for it.
